And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that he thus breathed his last, he said, "Truly this man was the Son of God!" Mk 9:11-13
And they asked him, "Why do the scribes say that first Elijah must come?" And he said to them, "Elijah does come first to restore all things; and how is it written of the Son of man, that he should suffer many things and be treated with contempt? But I tell you that Elijah has come, and they did to him whatever they pleased, as it is written of him." Mk 12:35-37
And as Jesus taught in the temple, he said "How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David? David himself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, declared, 'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I put thy enemies under thy feet." Mk 1:10-11
And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens opened and the Spirit descending upon him like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, "Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well pleased." mk 11:15-17
And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons; and he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. And he taught, and said to them, "Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations'? But you have made it a den of robbers. Mk 1:4-8
John the baptizer appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. . . And he preached saying, "After me comes he who is mightier than I, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. Mk 1:34
And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. . . Mk 4:33-34
With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it; he did not speak to them without a parable. . . Mk 11:15
And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple. . . Mk 11:4-6
And they went away, and found a colt tied at the door out in the open street; and they untied it. And those who stood there said to them, "What are you doing, untying the colt?" And they told them what Jesus had said; and they let them go. And they brought the colt to Jesus, and threw their garments on it; and he sat upon it. And many spread their garments on the road, and others spread leafy branches which they had cut from the fields. And those who went before and those who followed cried out, "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming! Hosanna in the highest!" Mk 12:10-11

And he said to them, "Do not be amazed; you seek Jesus of Nazareth who was crucified. He has risen, he is not here;. . ." Mk 16:19
So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. Mk 14:18
And as they were at table eating, Jesus said, "Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me." Mk 14:49-50
". . .Day after day I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me. But let the Scriptures be fulfilled." And they all forsook him and fled. Mk 14:56
For many bore false witness against him, and their witness did not agree. And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying, "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.'" Yet not even so there testimony did not agree. Mk 14:60-61
And the priest stood up in their midst, and asked Jesus, "Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?" But he was silent and made no answer. Mk 14:65
And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to strike him, saying to him, "Prophecy!" And the guards received him with blows. Mk 15:20, 31
And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the purple cloak, and put his own clothes on him. . . So also the chief priests mocked him to one another with the Scribes, saying, "He saved others; he cannot save himself. Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down from the cross, that we may see and believe." Those who were crucified with him also reviled him. Mk 15:29-30
And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads and saying, "Aha! You who would destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself, and come down from the cross!" Mk 15:24
And they crucified him, and divided his garments among them, casting lots for them, to decide what each should take. Mk 15:23
And they offered him wine mingled with myrrh; but he did not take it. Mk 15:33
And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. Mk 15:43-47
Joseph of Arimathea, a respected member of the council, who was also himself looking for the kingdom of God, took courage and went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus. . .and laid him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a stone against the door of the tomb. |
